BCT SMOKING CESSATION TRAINING SCHEDULE
NCSCT training programme
The NCSCT training programmes are based on research into the competences (skills and knowledge) required by stop smoking practitioners and has proven to be effective.
This two-day course covers those key skills needed to effectively deliver face-to-face individual smoking cessation interventions, including the 16 key competences that are most important in increasing smokers’ chances of quitting.
Pre Course Requirement: To participate in this training session, participants must have completed the following online NCSCT training and assessment modules, before partaking in this training.

- Pregnancy and Smoking Cessation
- Very Brief advise on second-hand smoke

This half day course is for stop smoking advisers who have previously completed, Advisers training (level 2), and have not had refresher training within the last 18 months.
This course revisits the key skills needed to effectively deliver face-to-face individual smoking cessation interventions, including revisiting the 16 key competences that are most important in increasing the smokers’ chances of quitting.
